How to wear Diamond Gemstone?

Once you have been prescribed to wear a gemstone, the question arises – What is the right way to wear this gemstone?

Some vedic norms are also involved in the selection of a right metal and jewelry design for an astrological gemstone.
As per the Indian astrology, each planet has been assigned a particular Finger,metal and time in which its gemstone gives fruitful results. Another important aspect is to ensure that the gemstone is touching the wearer’s skin properly after being studded in a Ring, Pendent or any other jewelry piece.

Diamond is worn as Ring made of Platinum or Gold or any white metal should be worn in Ring Finger on Friday for astrological reasons. Friday is the day for Shukra. Hence Diamond is worn on Friday only.

It can be studded in Platinum,Gold,Silver,panchdhatumetal. If worn as Ring, Men can wear Diamond in Ring-finger of Right Hand of the working hand (Left Hand for left-handed people and the Right Hand for right-handed people) while Women can wear in any hand as per choice and comfort. Diamond should be properly energized and activated when you wear it for best astrological results.

This way you can get best results from the astrological Gemstone. Once you get the Ring ready, the next thing to do is to keep it immersed in Gangajal or Holy Water or unboiled Milk, ghee, honey, yogurt (Panchamrut)for about 5-10 minutes in a small bowl. By doing this we get rid of any type of negative energy which may be present in the gemstone due to processing, touching with dirty hands and anything else. This Step is calledShudhikaran or Purification of the Gemstone.

Then in the next step the Gemstone is worn on the day prescribed and the time prescribed. A generally good time for wearing Gemstones is the time just before the Sunrise which is also known as Bramha Muhurata. Take a bath and then sit or stand somewhere clean and place the bowl in front of you with some fruits, flowers, sandal and Incense sticks ang pray to your adorable god-goddess and Chant big mantra 11 times and the short mantra 108 or 111 timesfor the planet for which the Gemstone has been prescribed.
For example if you have been prescribed a Diamond (Herra), you would be generally advised to wear it on Friday and the Mantra would be ‘OmShum Shukraye Namah’, “ॐशुंशुक्रायनमः” which should be Chanted 108 times. Same is the case with other Gemstones. By doing this step we are asking the concerned planet to bless us. This step is called Praan-Pratishtha or Establishment of the Gemstone. After this you can wear the Gemstone.
