How to wear Hessonite Garnet (Gomed)?

Once you have been prescribed to wear a gemstone, the question arises – What is the right way to wear this gemstone?

Some vedic norms are also involved in the selection of a right metal and jewelry design for an astrological gemstone. 
As per the Indian astrology, each planet has been assigned a particular Finger,metal and time in which its gemstone gives fruitful results. Another important aspect is to ensure that the gemstone is touching the wearer’s skin properly after being studded in a Ring, Pendent or any other jewelry piece.

GOMED is worn as Ring made of Gold, Silver or Panchdhatumetal should be worn in Middile Finger on Saturday for astrological reasons. Saturday is the day for Shani, Shani is the similar of Rahu. Hence GOMED is worn on Saturday only. It can be studded in Gold,Silver, panchdhatu  metal. If worn as Ring, Men can wear GOMED in Middile-finger of Right Hand of the working hand (Left Hand for left-handed people and the Right Hand for right-handed people) while Women can wear in any hand as per choice and comfort. For example if you have been prescribed a GOMED, you would be generally advised to wear it on Saturday and the Mantra would be “Aum Raam Rahve Namaha”  "ॐरांराहवेनमः" which should be Chanted 108 times.
